Duijsens
Erik Duijsens (1968), owner of Innovation Gateway NA Inc. and its Dutch mother company Duijsens Project- en Interimmanagement B.V., studied business economics at the University of Maastricht. He did not pursue the obvious career in the accounting business, but joined a research institute on rehabilitation technology even before his graduation. His job was to be a liaison between the institute’s researchers and the business world. After that he worked for several other applied research institutes. Each time his assignment is the same: “sell our knowledge”. In 2002 he establishes his own company. Only a few months later he’s asked to join a regional development agency in his region of birth. He accepts, but only on the condition that he’s allowed to built his company alongside his job. An interesting combination, since it gives him the opportunity to develop industrial and international innovation projects from a government’s perspective. He serves his 3-year contract, but gratefully declines the offer to remain part of the development agency after that. Instead he puts all his energy in the successful development of his company, knowing that making knowledge valuable to the business world is what it takes to let people actually benefit from technological progress.
Duijsens has an extensive and strong network that includes a lot of independent professionals that he enjoys working with intensively. Per project commitments are made so that each project gets the expertise and experience it requires. For instance in the field of subsidy advice and subsidy administration, internal and external communication, web technology or know-how on the technical substance of a project. For principals this organizational form stands for an excellent and well-motivated project team that is dedicated to its work.
